At Braz-en Language Experts, we offer the following levels of tuition to suit the needs of our students:
 
Beginner 1

This course is for students with no prior knowledge of Portuguese, who wish to acquire basic language skills in specific situational dialogues. The content includes idiomatic and colloquial expressions, basic regular verb patterns, and irregular verbs in Present Tense, and general knowledge / acquisition of word meaning, word formation, sentence formation and rules of sentence formation.
 
Beginner 2

This course assumes you have a basic familiarity of the language acquired through previous studies, family or travel, and have covered at least 18 hours of previous training / use. The course will develop your understanding of the use of Present Continuous Tense verbs while continuing to focus on the present tense form in order to develop your skills in negotiating everyday communication.
 
Beginner 3

This course assumes you have a basic familiarity of the language acquired through previous studies, family or travel, and have covered at least 48 hours of previous training / use. The course will develop your understanding of the use of Simple Past Tense verbs while continuing to focus on the present forms, and comparison forms in order to develop your skills in negotiating everyday communication.
 
Beginner 4

This course assumes you have a basic familiarity of the language acquired through previous studies, family or travel, and have covered at least 68 hours of previous training / use. The course will develop your understanding of the use of Imperfect Tense in contrast to Simple Past Tense verbs while continuing to focus on some of the previous verb forms learnt. Your skills in negotiating everyday communication, nouns and adjectives derivation form will be continue to be developed.
 
Intermediate 1

This course assumes you have a basic familiarity of the language acquired through previous studies, family or travel, and have covered at least 88 hours of previous training / use. The course will develop your understanding of the use of past participle, conditional forms and more complex structures in order to develop your skills in negotiating everyday communication, and expressing abstract ideas and hypotheses, which require the use of varied verb conjugation.
 
Intermediate 2

This course assumes you have a basic familiarity of the language acquired through previous studies, family or travel, and have covered at least 108 hours of previous level. The course will develop your understanding of the use of the Subjunctive mode in order to develop your skills in negotiating everyday communication, writing / answering family / friend’s letters, and expressing abstract ideas and hypotheses, which require the use of varied verb conjugation.
 
Intermediate 3

This course assumes you have a basic familiarity of the language acquired through previous studies, family or travel, and have covered at least 128 hours of previous training / use. The course will develop your understanding of the use of the Subjunctive mode and complex structures in order to develop your skills in negotiating everyday communication, analysing different types of texts, writing / answering different types of letters and expressing abstract ideas and hypotheses, which require the use of varied verb conjugation.
 
Advanced 1

This course assumes you have a basic familiarity of the language acquired through previous studies, family or travel, and have covered at least 148 hours of previous training / use. The course will develop your understanding of complex structures in the Portuguese language; revise the subjunctive mode, in addition to providing focus on vocabulary and expressions for particular topics of conversation.
 
Advanced 2

This course assumes you have a basic familiarity of the language acquired through previous studies, family or travel, and have covered at least 168 hours of previous training / use. The course will develop your understanding of complex structures of the Portuguese language through parts of movies, soap opera and short stories, and will focus on vocabulary and expressions for particular topics of conversation. 
 
Conversation

This course assumes you have a good knowledge of Portuguese, and are able to maintain a conversation (even with mistakes). You should have achieved an upper intermediate level or an advanced level.
